Class of '62 Student Enrichment Fund Event
Campus visit by Brun Brothers
Highlight of Diversity Day 2
October 7, 2016
Pascal '12 and Michael Brun '10 returned as a one-two punch to Diversity Day at Culver Academies Friday, Oct. 7. Pascal, who graduated from the United States Military Academy this spring, served as the featured speaker during the All-School convocation, focusing on the theme "Who Am I, Who Are You, Who Are We?"
It was a packed house for Pascal and Michael Brun's question-and-answer session
That night, Michael, an internationally known DJ and producer, entertained the students at a special outdoor concert on the shores of Lake Maxinkuckee behind the Roberts Hall of Science and the Dicke Hall of Mathematics. During the convocation it was announced that Michael was establishing a summer camp scholarship to benefit an international student. The Bruns' appearance was supported by the Class of 1962 Student Enrichment Fund.

CLASS OF 1962 STUDENT ENRICHMENT FUND FEEDBACK
Speakers - Pascal and Michael Brun
October 7, 2016
As compiled by Laura Yeager, Director of Stewardship, Development
"There are too many great memories I have made at Culver, but one of my new 'favorite memories' was having Michael Brun come to Culver this year for Diversity Day. It was so fun having such a big concert and food trucks come. It was really special since almost the whole student body was there."
--Molly '17
"I wasn't able to go to the outside concert on Diversity Day because of another commitment, but Pascal spoke earlier in the day at one of the workshops and I did hear that. It was pretty uplifting. I consider Culver to be a very diverse place and Pascal pointed out lots of reasons why we should be proud of that and celebrate it."
--Nicholas '18
"The concert with Michael Brun was the best! He played a lot of popular music, but also mixed in music from diverse artists so we could be exposed to it. It was really interesting and fun!"
--Morgan '19
"The Pascal brothers were amazing. They are doing such different things, but are doing them well. It inspired me."
--Spenser '18
"I had a blast with my friends at the incredible Michael Brun concert that was held at our school for Diversity Day. It was such a great celebration!"
--Hershey '17
"This was the best Diversity Day celebration that I have ever had because of the speakers and the concert. I had never even heard of them before that day, but will follow their careers now. It made me proud that they are Culver men."
--John '18
"This was a great day at Culver. The Pascals were a part of the entire day. It felt like they were students with us again. I really liked that they were able to spend time with us in different sessions. They both talked about their experiences in Haiti, at Culver, and in the world beyond. It broaden my view of the world even more."
--Sean '19
"I found the All School Meeting presentation to be inspiring. It wasn't so much about what he said, but what he said combined with what he has done. The message of work hard to do well is one we hear often, but it is great to hear it from people close to our age that went to Culver. I am glad that we were able to hear from Pascal friend Alix via video. I wish he had been able to attend too."
--Ally '17
"We had so many great chances to celebrate diversity throughout the day. The concert was my favorite part. There was a lot of energy and although it was music and dancing with the other Culver students, Michael spoke briefly between songs about being who we are, finding our passions, and working hard to make a difference in the world. It was great!"
--Mary '19
"This was one of my favorite events at Culver mostly because of how easy it was to relate to these guys. They both made a decision to define who they are and work hard for what they want. I feel like I will be different in the way I view things as I move through the rest of my life."
