At our 45th Reunion, strategies for maximizing attendance at our Golden (50th) Reunion were discussed. One of the better ideas was that we should have "Mini Reunions" in an effort to rekindle the relationships from our days at Culver. That is, organize gatherings of classmates (and their significant others) throughout the country with the intent of re-establishing old relationships and creating new ones. Sites were chosen based on having a classmate at the location (or with in-depth knowledge of the site) to host the event and the location being a place that people would like to visit. The consensus was that these Minis led to our class setting a then-record for classmate attendance at a 50th.
Based on the success of the Mini-Reunions leading up to our 50th and their continuing success leading up to our 55th and 60th (setting a records for attendance at a 55th and a 60th), your Class Leadership plans to continue having them for as long as there remains interest and ability to have them and to attend.
As of March 2024, we have had ~30 Mini Reunions. (The “~“ is used because some of the Minis were just 2 guys getting together. There were many undocumented occurrences of minis of that small size.) The largest to date was the one in Traverse City, MI (hosted by Howie and Mary Bridges in May 2018) with 19 classmates and 16 significant others for a total of 35 attendees!!!
