While the picture below may not look like it relates to our Commencement Ball, here is the backstory to it: In December 2024, Joe Mapes ‘63 posted this picture on the Facebook group page for ‘62/’63 that Doug Laipple started. This is Joe’s commentary:

“[At] the Final Ball … 2nd Classmen Tracy Gordon (guitar), Jim Barker (drums), and I (guitar) played during the intermission. One song was an original by Tracy called "Zen" (which I could still play), and another was "Walk, Don't Run". I'm sure that there was a third song, but I can't remember what it was. … Photo below was sort of a practice session with Tracy and me in the Butt Room.”

In case you don’t recognize it, this is a photo from an early model of the Polaroid Land Camera. The triangular tab on the right was used to pull the picture off of the film roll once you waited 60 seconds for it to develop. Typically, the tab was then separated from the photo. Amazing to find a photo with the tab still attached after all these years.

Definitely impressed by Dennis Marchman's choice in young women.

Not so sure about being impressed by his date’s ("Dolly's") taste in young men. (LOL)
