J.D. Smith — Deceased September 4, 2024

James David (J.D.) Smith, 80, passed peacefully on September 4, 2024 at Mirabella assisted living facility.

Graveside: 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel at 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth Texas 76107.

J.D was born on November 29, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio to parents, Lt. Colonel James R and Mildred Smith. He attended high school at Culver Military Academy, Culver, Indiana, and college at Southern Methodist University.

He was a USAF T38 pilot and a flight instructor before becoming a commercial pilot with Eastern Airlines, based in Atlanta, Georgia. Following Eastern's closure in 1990, J.D. worked for Ross Perot's Electronic Data Systems in New York City. J.D. moved to Ft. Worth in 1992 and established his own estate and financial planning company.

J.D is survived by his cousin Molly Stier of Fort Worth.
