Dave Gotshall — February 22, 2024
David Walter "Dave" Gotshall, 79, of Anderson, passed away on Feb. 22, 2024, at Community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on June 3, 1944, in Indianapolis, to Walter and Jean (David) Gotshall. He graduated from Culver Military Academy (High School) and earned his law degree from Indiana University.
He was an attorney in private practice, a former prosecuting attorney for the City of Anderson, and served as the attorney for Anderson Community Schools for many years. He was a member of Unity Church where he served on the church board. He wrote the newsletter and was the treasurer for 20 years at the Chapter House and served on its board. He was a board member at the House of Hope.
He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed game shows, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and traveling with his family. He enjoyed cooking nightly dinners for his wife.
Dave is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary Lou (Isaacs) Gotshall of Anderson, whom he married on June 8, 1996; his two daughters, Erica Gotshall of Anderson, and Barbie (Kristopher) Jones of Yorktown; two grandsons, Elijah Gotshall of Cleveland, Ohio, and Alex (Carly Everett) Butler of Anderson; three siblings, Mary (David) Baines of Ocala, Florida, Richard (Karen) Gotshall of Franklin, and Matt (Diane) Gotshall of Logansport; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Valerie "Val" Gotshall in 1994; and a sister, Beth Gotshall.
